Okhla Crafts Centre
The Society has been running a Craft Centre since its inception to motivate young girls and women for developing their ability to learn different skills such as Tailoring and Dress Making and Textile Designing leading to generation of additional income in the family . This activity has attracted the neighboring girls and women as it proved beneficial for them in terms of earning and gaining self- confidence.
The Craft Centre has three sections:-
A- Tailoring course:- Tailoring course which includes cutting, stitching, over – locking, etc. Some of them have also learnt the skill of machine embroidery. Currently, to meet the demand, the Craft classes are run in two shifts- (a) Morning Shift and (B) Evening Shift.
(a) Morning Shift:- During 2015-16, 20 students have been enrolled and have successfully completed the course assigned for one year
(b) Evening Shift:- During 2015-16, 15 students (girls and women) was enrolled and have completed the course assigned for one year.
B- Special Course:- Special course for Tailoring and Textile Designing for one year duration.
(a)- Tailoring Course:- 20 students have been enrolled and completed their terms successfully.
(b)- Textile Course:- 04 students have been enrolled and completed their terms successfully.
(c)– Beautician Course:- A new course in Beauty Culture is started by the Society in session-2006-2007, 40 students have been enrolled and completed their terms successfully.
All the students/ trainees were prepared to undergo the examination and certificates had been awarded to successful candidates.
C- Creche Unit:-
During the current session 30 children have been enrolled. Children are taught through Kindergarten method.
